In 2003 she defended her doctoral dissertation in the field of material engineering entitled "Mechanisms of structure changes in the field of large plastic deformations conditioning the nanocrystalline properties of metals and alloys" at the Faculty of Non-Ferrous Metals at the University of Science and Technology AGH Kraków. Since 2004, she has been working at the Skawina Light Metals, Institute of Non-Ferrous Metals. Her scientific achievements include 93 publications, most of them in English. She participated in 48 scientific conferences. She also participated as a author and co-author in 16 national research projects and in 11 financed or co-financed by the EU. Current scope of research interests Ph.D Sonia Boczkal includes: research and expertise conducted for the light metal industry, structural studies of technically advanced materials based on aluminum and magnesium, as well as analysis of the angle of disorientation and phases in micro areas using scanning and transmission electron microscopy techniques.
