graduated from the Department of Non-Ferrous Metals at the AGH University of Science and Technology in Cracow, since 2008 she has been employed in the Institute of Non-Ferrous Metals in Gliwice, Light Metals Division Skawina, and since then she has been working on various issues related with engineering of aluminium, aluminium alloys, magnesium and magnesium alloys.

She has been working on her PhD thesis connected with Continuous Rotary Extrusion of magnesium alloys.

Currently she is also Quality Manager of Accredited Laboratory of Metallography and Chemical Analysis.


MSc. Eng. Monika Mitka is the co-author and performer of many research projects funded from public funds and the author or co-author of about 30 publications.

The Institute of Non-Ferrous Metals, Light Metals Division in Skawina, for more than 50 years specializes in studies of various casting technologies and other forms of light metals processing and surface treatment for the needs of basic R&D work carried out for the industry and other research centres.

The IMN-OML Skawina meets the requirements of ISO 9001: 2008 for Quality Management System and has got the Certificate No. 170591-2014-AQ-POL-RvA issued by DNV (Det Norske Veritas) for the research and development work and design services in the field of light metals.
