graduated from the Faculty of Foundry Engineering at the AGH University of Science and Technology in Cracow, with specialization in non-ferrous metals metallurgy.

Since 1992 he has been employed in the Institute of Non-Ferrous Metals in Gliwice, Light Metals Division Skawina.


Currently he is working as an engineering and technical specialist in Foundry Engineering and Equipment Design Unit.


MSc. Marcin Szymanek specialises in the technology of molten metal casting , including processes such as rapid solidification-meltspinning, continuous and semi-continuous casting of aluminum and magnesium alloys.


He also specialises in recycling of light metal. He is author or co-author of over 20 publications. 

The Institute of Non-Ferrous Metals, Light Metals Division in Skawina, for more than 50 years specializes in studies of various casting technologies and other forms of light metals processing and surface treatment for the needs of basic R&D work carried out for the industry and other research centres.
